APW - Elgin, Convertible model, 15J, Grade 50, 16S, heavy 18K gold J&S (Jeannot & Shiebler) HC recase, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-LS, nickel damascene, s#1374059. Watch comes as pictured with a beautiful heavy 14K gold double-Albert chain with curved T-bar and with an attached gold-filled cigar cutter fob, chain measures 20 inches from clasp to clasp. Gross weight of assembled watch 82.6 dwt (128.5 g). Gross weight of 14K gold chain with gold-filled fob removed 36.0 dwt (56.0 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Ticking sluggishly with low balance amplitude on a full wind, overhaul recommended, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some toning of plate surfaces, scattered mild small surface spots and micro-fine scratches; dial with light hl near 7, scattered edge flakes; excellent hands; case shows light to medium wear, some mild dings to front and rear, few corresponding light dings to cuvette, reduced engine turning detail with full loss to much of front and rear shoulders; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal. 14K gold double-Albert chain is excellent showing little wear. Gold-filled cigar cutter fob shows light wear with wear to brass in areas.
